With the installation of 263 MCS-certified Novasys panels, capable of generating 143kWp of clean energy, Xaverian College has significantly reduced its carbon footprint and made a meaningful contribution to Greater Manchester's Net-Zero commitments by 2038. This marks the very first installation of Novasys panels in the UK, making it a pioneering project for Novasys, an Indian manufacturer known for its high-quality solar products.

A Seamless Solar Installation

Earlier this year, Xaverian College, a vibrant institution serving over 2,500 students in the Manchester area, contacted us to support its efforts to reduce energy costs and enhance its sustainability profile. Avrenim, in collaboration with Helios Distribution, was selected to design, supply, and install a state-of-the-art solar PV system using MCS-certified Novasys solar panels.

The project was completed successfully despite challenges posed by the college's proximity to Manchester Airport and the presence of listed buildings on campus. The project was managed from start to finish, addressing critical concerns such as heritage impact assessments and aviation glare studies. The installation process was meticulously coordinated to minimise disruption to the busy college environment.

The impact of this installation is substantial. With just 263 Novasys solar panels, Xaverian College has reduced its carbon emissions by 26 tons annually, achieved 143kWp of power generation capacity, and is saving £24,000 annually in energy costs.

What Our Client Say

“In looking for key partners to implement the College’s ambitions to reach ‘net zero’, the College selected Avrenim to realise solar power generation across three of its largest buildings. The College chose to work with Avrenim based on their whole team approach to engaging with the College’s objectives, a real flexibility to work within the constraints of a busy Sixth Form College and a ‘can-do’ attitude to delivery.” - Simon Channell, Vice Principal.

A Bright Future Ahead

The success of this project underscores the reliability and efficiency of Novasys solar panels distributed by Helios. As Xaverian College continues to benefit from reduced energy costs and a smaller carbon footprint, it stands as a shining example of how educational institutions can lead the way in sustainability. Additionally, this installation marks a significant milestone for Novasys as it enters the UK market, with Xaverian College being the first in the country to install the innovative solar panels from this Indian manufacturer.
