At Helios, we believe in practising what we preach regarding renewable energy solutions. To showcase the efficiency and reliability of our products, we recently installed two 11.4kW Power World heat pumps alongside a 300L World Heat pre-plumbed water cylinder at our Liverpool headquarters. This system provides hot water and efficiently heats our business, keeping us warm through this cold La Niña winter

Technical Specifications and Performance

The Power World 11.4kW (7°C Amb, 30°C/35°C water, COP 4.13) heat pumps are designed with DC inverter monoblock technology and utilize R290 refrigerant, known for its low environmental impact. The units maintain a low noise level of 43 dB at a distance of one meter, ensuring a quiet working environment. The system can deliver a maximum outlet water temperature of 70°C and operates effectively within an ambient temperature range of –25°C to +43°C.

For the UK, an outlet temperature of 55°C at -5°C ambient temperature will produce 7.2kW at a COP of 2.27, and at 7°C ambient temperature it will produce 10kW at COP 2.93

Energy Consumption and Cost Analysis

The Power World 11.4kW (7°C Amb, 30°C/35°C water, COP 4.13) operates with a Seasonal Coefficient of Performance (SCOP) 4.71, indicating high efficiency. Considering the actual COP range for 55°C outlet temperature, for every kilowatt of electricity consumed, the heat pumps produce approximately 2.9 kilowatts of heat. Therefore, to achieve a daily heating output of 60kWh (daily heating demand), the system requires about 20.7kWh of electrical power per day.

According to the latest data from Ofgem, the average electricity unit rate is 24.86 pence per kWh. This translates to a daily operating cost of about £5.14.
However, it's important to note that heat demand varies throughout the day and is typically lower during non-business hours. Assuming an average daily operation of 10 hours, the estimated daily energy consumption would be around 48.4 kWh, resulting in a daily cost of approximately £4.10. Over a 30-day month, this equates to an estimated energy cost of £123.06.

A System Designed for Efficiency

The newly installed heating system is tailored to meet the demands of the UK climate, particularly during the colder months. Power World heat pumps are engineered for optimal performance, delivering consistent heating even in low temperatures. Paired with the World Heat pre-plumbed cylinder, this setup ensures a seamless and efficient energy solution that reduces reliance on traditional heating sources.

Reliability and Sustainability Combined

By integrating this system at our HQ, we reaffirm our commitment to sustainable, cost-effective heating. This installation is more than just a demonstration; it’s a real-world example of how businesses can transition to renewable energy without compromising comfort or efficiency. The combination of Power World heat pumps and World Heat cylinders offers a practical, high-performance solution for those seeking a reliable alternative to fossil-fuel-based heating.

The Future of Heating is Here

Our Power World heat pumps are MCS-certified and eligible for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS), making them a practical and cost-effective choice for those seeking a greener alternative to conventional heating. These certifications ensure compliance with industry standards while offering financial incentives for adoption.

The transition to renewable heating is no longer a distant goal - it’s happening now. With government incentives supporting sustainable technologies, businesses and homeowners have never had a better time to make the switch. At Helios, we’re proud to lead by example, demonstrating how innovative heating solutions can provide warmth, efficiency, and long-term savings.

We invite wholesalers, installers, and industry professionals to visit our Liverpool headquarters and see this system in action. Experience firsthand how sustainable heating can transform homes and businesses while driving the transition to a greener future.
